Get ready for Giving Tuesday: Donate by midnight on December 2 and your gift will be MATCHED! Support small family farms, food access for all, and youth education, as Foodwise grows in 2026.

You have the power to build a just, regenerative, and nourishing food future—one that protects the people who feed us and our planet, and ensures everyone has access to fresh, local food.

Foodwise and the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market have been here for you since 1993, providing essential lifelines between small family farms and our Bay Area community. In 2026, we are doubling down on our commitment by becoming the operator of the Alemany Farmers Market—the oldest farmers market in California.

We need your support to grow our mission in 2026. Your donation helps:

  • Support California farmers for a climate-resilient future. Our farmers markets provide vital income for 140+ small family farms and food businesses—and in 2026, we’ll be working with 40+ more at Alemany! The farms we work with prioritize sustainability and they need support to stay viable in this challenging livelihood.
  • Keep fresh, healthy food affordable for Bay Area families. As federal food assistance programs are threatened, our Market Match program is a safety net for low-income families who use SNAP benefits at our farmers markets, doubling their purchasing power for fresh, local food.
  • Advance equity for BIPOC, immigrant, and limited-resource food entrepreneurs. Establishing a thriving food business is hard, made even more so by barriers due to structural racism. Through our Building Equity program, we assist early-stage BIPOC entrepreneurs in our market by underwriting permit costs, waiving our stall fees, and offering technical support as they build their businesses.
  • Provide critical and free food education for kids. Through farmers market field trips, cooking classes, school gardens, and job training, we increase young people's desire to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and be empowered as future food leaders.

Join us in investing in the Bay Area food and farm community you love, and advancing solutions for a just and regenerative food future. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a big difference!

Your donation could be doubled if your employer offers a matching gift program (check here). Please let us know if you require any additional documentation to qualify for a matching contribution: give@foodwise.org
