Donate now to help us deliver critical and free food education to 2,500 SFUSD students through farmers market field trips, cooking classes, and job training.
Every kid deserves opportunities to grow and be healthy. As students go back to school this fall, help us provide free experiential food education in the farmers market and the classroom, and invest in an equitable and sustainable food future. Foodwise farmers markets and education programs are an essential source of learning, wellness, and connection for Bay Area youth, serving more than 2,500 San Francisco Unified School District students every year. Through our Foodwise Kids and Foodwise Teens programs, students meet farmers face-to-face at the market, learn to grow and cook their own food, develop valuable life and job skills, and build community together.
Your support is especially important right now, as we’ve learned that stipends for Foodwise Teens are not in SFUSD’s budget this year, and we will have to cover all participants’ stipends (formerly a shared expense). Each teen receives up to $550 per semester, as they deepen their food knowledge and gain real-world job experiences in the farmers market.
We need your support to continue to serve San Francisco youth with vital and free nutrition and wellness education, as we have for more than a decade. Help us grow the next generation of food leaders and expand our farmers market community with a donation today!
